Based on Creative's X-Fi technology, the Auzentech Hometheater Soundcard is a great soundcard. However with a few tweaks and component upgrades it produces fantastic levels of detail and powerful dynamics. The advantages of modifying your soundcard are many, but most significant for many people is the high pound/performance ratio. A modified soundcard is capable of incredible sound-quality, besting all but the most expensive commercial cd players and dacs.
This card also has a dedicated headphone amplifier section to give superior performance with headphones. Details of the upgrade for this section can be found at the bottom of the page.

Custom Jobs Welcomed (and encouraged)
Below is an overview picture of a custom modification requested by a customer. This card has now been fitted with:
* 1 x C1 Low-Jitter Master Clock.
* 1 x Spower for clock supply.
* All key electrolytics on audio rails upgraded to a mixture of Rubycon ZA and Sanyo Oscon SEPC.
* DC Blocking caps are now Wima MKS2-XL Miniature Film Types
* Dac IC now has its own dedicated low-noise SPower Regulator for the Analogue supply and another, separate dedicated SPower for the digital supply. The digital supply is double-regulated to further reduce noise and the operating temperature of the SPower Regulator.
* Main L/R Opamp changed to Burson Discrete opamp modules
* Rear channel and sub-woofer opamps upgraded to LM4562MA
* Headphone opamp upgraded to LM4562MA
* The whole card only takes up one PCI slot inside the pc
The result is an incredibly detailed, dynamic & realistic sound. More importantly the sound is cohesive, balanced and easy on the ear making it easy to listen to for long periods. A true audiophile solution inside the pc, sounding far better and more musical than many high-end cd players and dacs.
