Coils / Inductors Homepage

Now available is the huge range of inductors from Mundorf.

These coils are wound to order by Mundorf and we currently do not carry stock. These pages are currently under construction, so if you can't find what you need, please email or call us and we'll do our very best to help.

Air-core coils are, for physical reasons, unbeatable as far as accurate pulse reproduction and freedom from distortion are concerned. For this reason, for all the purists, we stock air cored coils with wire diameters of up to 3.0 mm. It is also possible in this way to create greater inductances with relatively low internal resistance. Baked varnish coils of this type are also available. Their type series description is preceded in each case with a ‘b’. Baked varnish wire is available up to a max. size of 1.4 mm (respectively 1.59 mm litz). For a larger winding diameter, vacuum impregnation is used. (see p. 19 about the advantage of vacuum impregnation). Click here to read about the advantages of Baked Varnish Coils.

The ferrite coils that we offer complete our range for use in parallel circuits, series resonant circuits, etc. – so where a low internal resistance is not the top priority, but rather smaller dimensions and efficiency are.

MUNDORF FERRIT-CORE
Aronit is a material based on sintered metal which produces extremely low distortions, even at very high loadings. This material, in combination with specially tuned coil formers, allows the material coil to have a very low ohmic resistance with excellent value for money. Aronit choke coils are used wherever high load capacity and low distortion need to be achieved at low cost.

I-core coils are high-performance bass coils. FERON™, used as a core material, is heat treated after production in a special process. This gives FERON™ a crystal lattice structure that has optimum magnetic properties, offers the lowest loss values and is very resistant to distortion. Their power handling capacities are substantially higher than those of current ferrite core coils while, at the same time, they‘re smaller and less expensive than transformer core coils.
Mundorf Ferron-Core Coils
MUNDORF FERRON i-CORE
For the manufacture of our Transformer core coils we use nothing but FERON™ which is extremely low in losses and distortions. This high quality initial material is subsequently heat treated in a special process. In this way, FERON™ is provided with a crystal lattice structure which displays optimum magnetic properties. Such a core material is used for the manufacture of high quality audio transformers. In this construction type, coils can be manufactured with very low internal resistances and extreme load-bearing
capacity. These are the preconditions for a precise deep bass. The ratios of inductivity to internal resistance achieved here can often not even be realised with pure air cored coils, or only at considerably greater financial cost. Due to their high quality, vacuum impregnation is also strongly recommended for transformer core coils as a measure to audibly
increase the quality further. (see p. 19 about the advantage of vacuum impregnation)
